.WOODY GUTHRIE’S “maker” killed fascists– or so United States’s wonderful dust-bowl balladeer composed on his guitar. Jack White’s electrical equipment “sues fascists”, wrote the frontman of The White Lines on Instagram on September 9th. The “fascist” is actually Donald Trump, that recently made use of the band’s very most popular song, “Seven Nation Soldiers”, in a campaign video.
Mr White prefers him to cease. He joins a long checklist of musicians who object to Mr Trump using their songs: Abba, Celine Dion, Beyoncu00e9, Foo Fighters, the real estates of Isaac Hayes and Sinu00e9ad O’Connor and Johnny Marr of The Smiths– as well as those are merely the objectors coming from this year. (Our company’ve crafted a playlist of Trump-appropriated songs.) Can they switch the popular music off?
